1. Who we are

SalariQ ("SalariQ", "we", "us" or "our") is an Australian salary-intelligence and negotiation service operated by 61WEB. We are bound by the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and the Australian Privacy Principles (APPs). This policy explains how we handle personal information when you use our website, tools and reports (the "Service") or otherwise deal with us.

By using the Service you agree to the collection, use and disclosure of your information as described here. If you don't agree, please don't use the Service.

2. Information we collect

Information you give us

Information we collect automatically

Information from third parties

Our market benchmarks draw on aggregated, public or licensed datasets (including the Australian Bureau of Statistics and Jobs and Skills Australia) — these are not personal information about you. We also receive confirmation of your payment from Stripe (never your card details).

3. How we use your information

4. AI-powered features

SalariQ uses artificial intelligence to generate reports and to power the Pay Coach. When you use these features, your inputs (such as role, salary figures and Pay Coach messages) are processed by our AI provider (Anthropic) to produce the output. We require our AI providers to maintain appropriate security and to use your data only to provide the service to us. We design our AI to work from your figures and real benchmark data — it does not invent salary figures.

5. Salary benchmarks and de-identified data

SalariQ's value comes partly from aggregated market data. Where we use contributed or observed salary data to build benchmarks, we de-identify it before aggregation, and we only surface a market segment once it contains enough data points that no individual can be identified. Aggregated benchmark statistics are not personal information. We do not sell your personal information, ever.

6. How we disclose your information

We do not sell your personal information. We disclose it only:

7. Overseas disclosure

Some of our service providers store or process information outside Australia, including in the United States and the European Union. By using the Service you consent to this transfer. We take reasonable steps to ensure your information is handled consistently with the APPs, including using reputable providers with appropriate security and contractual protections.

8. Cookies & analytics

We use essential cookies to keep you signed in and to secure the Service, and analytics (Google Analytics) to understand usage and improve the product. You can control or block cookies through your browser settings, though some features may not work without them.

9. Data retention

We keep your personal information while your account is active and for as long as needed to provide the Service, then for any period required to meet legal, tax, accounting or dispute-resolution obligations. When you ask us to delete your account, we delete or de-identify your personal information within a reasonable time (generally 30 days), except where we must retain certain records by law.

10. Data security

We take reasonable technical and organisational steps to protect your information, including encryption in transit and at rest, access controls and reputable cloud infrastructure. No system is completely secure, and we can't guarantee absolute security. If a data breach likely to cause serious harm occurs, we will respond in line with the Notifiable Data Breaches scheme.

11. Anonymity

Consistent with APP 2, you can use the free salary check without creating an account or telling us your name or employer. Where it's lawful and practicable, you may deal with us anonymously or using a pseudonym.

12. Your rights and choices

13. Children

The Service is intended for working adults and is not directed to children under 16. We don't knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has given us information, contact us and we'll delete it.

14. Overseas users

SalariQ is built for the Australian market and operated under Australian law. If you access the Service from the EEA or UK, you may have additional rights under the GDPR (such as access, rectification, erasure, restriction, portability and objection); contact us to exercise them.

15. Complaints

If you have a privacy concern, contact us first at privacy@salariq.io and we'll work to resolve it. If you're not satisfied, you can contact the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (OAIC) at oaic.gov.au or 1300 363 992.

16. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. Material changes will be reflected here with a new "last updated" date and, where appropriate, notice through the Service.
